Knowledge In The Last Days

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. (Daniel 12:3-4)
God gave the prophet Daniel a glimpse of the last days. Specifically, he saw two telltale signs of the end: an increase in movement and an increase in knowledge.

In a very natural way, our ability to run to and fro has increased dramatically since Daniel’s time, and even more so in the past hundred years. It used to take months to cross the Atlantic. Now that trip is possible in six hours.
Similarly, our ability to access information and gain knowledge has exponentially advanced. Answers to questions, historical events, and scientific research are at our fingertips. Knowledge can be acquired in a fraction of the amount of time it took to gather information just decades ago.
However, this increase in technology could be to our benefit or our detriment. The same technology that brings us more understanding of God has also allowed people to move away from God's will and into sin more easily and secretly than ever.
Many Christians have lived their lives to and fro. They move toward God one day and away from Him the next because they never decided to control their bodies. Their body and soul (mind, will, and emotions) drive them into temptations and away from God. Decide to keep your body’s and emotions’ desires in check and live in these last days with hope for the soon coming return of Jesus.
Practical Application – Knowledge is good, but wisdom is better. Don’t allow yourself to get caught up with information overload and separate yourself from the wisdom that comes only from seeking God. Turn off the news, turn off the noise and make sure that with every piece of information you gain that you ask God for revelation about the truth of a matter.
