And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. (Revelation 20:7-8)
The devil’s purpose is always to deceive. Even after the thousand years’ reign, the devil will be loosed for a short time and go back to his old ways of deceiving the nations.

The word deceived means putting forth a theory, a hypothesis, a system of belief that is untrue. Also, the word nations is the Greek word ethnos that refers to ethnicity.
Satan’s purpose then will be what his purpose always was - to gather as many people as possible to follow his way of doing things and go against God’s. He creates strife to encourage ethnicities to fight against ethnicities.
Jesus, in the 24th chapter of Matthew, said that deception would be prevalent in the last days. Deceit is one of the major signs that we are in the end times.
Satan has always tried to deceive believers into thinking that his way is the best way. He lies to get people to react with their flesh and make wrong decisions.
In these last days, news and social media are spewing deception to separate and divide people against one another. Be careful, in these last days, not to give ear to their deception.
Practical Application – You will not be deceived if you are truly being vigilant. Pay attention to what you hear and see. Don’t fall for things that sound good, but don’t line up with the Bible. Base your decisions, thoughts, and choices only on God’s Word.
Matthew 24:5; Matthew 24:11
