Anointed to Do Good Works

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly. (Acts 10:38-40)
Jesus walked the earth as a man anointed by God, and He demonstrated what a human fully surrendered to the will of the Holy Spirit could do. The same Spirit that anointed Jesus also anoints you. The same power that healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and made the lame walk is alive in you, though it may be dormant. Are you stepping out and operating in the gifts of the Spirit that God has given you?
The anointing on Jesus’ life wasn’t just for show; it was so that God's power could work through Him in every situation. The anointing on you isn’t just for making church services exciting. God anointed you to transform the world around you with His power.
Jesus carried the fullness of the Spirit without measure, having the unlimited flow of the Holy Ghost. We receive the Spirit by measure. That’s why we need other believers who share our faith and operate in the gifts together. At that point, our measures combine into a display of Jesus’ full power. Your measure matters. When you aren’t at church or don’t show up to be with other believers, part of God's plan is missing.
The anointing on your life is to transform the atmospheres God places you in. You are called to minister healing to the sick, show the lost how to be saved, and set the oppressed free as you walk in the “good works” that Jesus accomplished through your words and actions with Holy Ghost power.
Practical Application
Don’t miss the chance to spend time with fellow believers. Missing church or not connecting with other Christians means missing out on part of what God intends to do. Serve, pray, and partner with other believers so you can see His power at work through your life.
