No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and thou shalt condemn every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17)
God’s protection covers any and every form of attack that could come against the believer. That includes physical, emotional, and spiritual or verbal attacks against your character. The Word never promises that the weapons won’t be formed against you. The challenges may come our way, the adversities may show up, and the weapons may be aimed against us, but the Word promises that they won’t succeed.
Isaiah wrote specifically that every tongue that comes against you will be silenced. That means every accusation, lie, or damaging attack against you will be taken down. However, that won’t happen automatically. Scripture indicates that we have the power to condemn those types of attacks. Your words have supernatural power, and God has given you the authority to defeat any negative word, curse, or verbal attack over your life.
Isaiah explained that this is not just a promise from God but our heritage as those who serve God. Heritage in Hebrew is nachalah and means inheritance, possession, or property. As children of God, a part of the inheritance we receive is the fullness of protection against attacks from the enemy or the people he uses. We are no longer just servants of God; we are under a new covenant as children of God with the rights and privileges of the royal family of Heaven.
You do not need to fear what the enemy is going to do. You are protected as a child of God, and no weapon formed against you is allowed to succeed when you condemn it.
Practical Application
When fear appears in your heart, speak out loud, “You are not allowed to be here!” Use your authority and your words to defeat all of the attacks of the enemy.
