Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105)

In a dark world, during confusing moments, in seasons where the path isn’t clear, the Word shows you the next step and where you’re headed. The Bible doesn’t just contain truth—it is truth. It doesn’t just inform you; it transforms you. It’s not merely the record of what God said; it is God still speaking to us. When you read the Bible, it’s not just history; it’s the voice of Heaven speaking to you.

Note that the Psalmist said that the Word lights up directly in front of his feet and further down the path. The Word will give you the next step you need to take as a current source of revelation, but it will also illuminate your path—the bigger picture, the things to come.

When you don’t know what to do today regarding the situation, immerse yourself in the Word. When you’re unsure about what the future holds, turn to the Word. When life is dark and confusing, seek refuge in the Word.

Do you want to live a life of faith? Start with the Bible. Don’t start with social media, a group chat or your feelings.

Faith doesn’t grow in the dark; it thrives in the light of the Word. You will live in a fog of confusion without it. You will never find real strength apart from it. Speak the Word. Stay in the Scriptures. When the light of the Word of God leads you, you will never lose your way.

Practical Application

Do you start your day with God’s Word or the news? Do you scroll through the headlines before opening the pages of power? Make it a point to read the Word first every day, allowing it to reveal your next steps and your future.

Proverbs 6:23; Psalm 19:8
