How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14)

When we gather as a church community, we have the privilege of encountering the living Word through the proclamation of the Scriptures. As our hearts and minds are open to receive, faith is sparked within us. The preacher, or proclaimer, plays a vital role in delivering the message that awakens belief in our hearts.
Believing the Word is the next crucial step. It's not enough to merely hear it; we must choose to believe in the promises and truths contained within. Our beliefs shape our thoughts, attitudes, and actions. When we align our hearts with God's Word, we position ourselves to experience the abundant life He desires for us.
After believing, we must speak the Word. As believers, we have the authority to speak God's truth into existence. Our words have the power to create and shape our realities. When we declare His promises over our lives and circumstances, we invite Heaven’s way to show up in our current situation.
However, our faith is incomplete without action. Acting on the Word is the last element in the process. It's not enough to hear, believe, and speak; we must also put our faith into action. As James 2:26 reminds us, “faith without works is dead.” Our actions reflect our trust in God's Word and demonstrate our commitment to living out His principles in our daily lives. Let us reflect on these five elements of faith: hearing, receiving, believing, speaking, and acting. Are we actively engaging in each step? Are we positioning ourselves to receive God's Word with open hearts? Are we boldly declaring His promises over our lives and circumstances? And are we faithfully putting our beliefs into action?
Practical Application
Choose a specific promise from Scripture that resonates with your current circumstances or needs. It could be a promise of healing, provision, guidance, or peace. Write this promise and keep it in a visible place, such as a sticky note on your mirror or a bookmark in your Bible. Throughout your day, intentionally speak that promise aloud, declaring it with faith and confidence.
