But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. (1 Corinthians 2:9-10)

Eyes, ears, and human imagination are too limited to access the depth of what God wants to share and do. If you try to understand God's plan only through your intellect, you will never reach your goal. It would be too deep even for the greatest genius on earth to comprehend. Still, many people stop reading here. It's not just that God's will is hidden and we may never understand it. The Holy Spirit reveals to us now what cannot be understood with human senses or reasoning. You need spiritual wisdom to receive it.

The Holy Spirit takes us beyond what flesh can understand. The Greek word in this verse for "revealed" is apokalupto, which means "to uncover, to unveil." The Holy Spirit searches hidden strategies, ideas, and even the deepest things of God that we cannot grasp with our natural insight.

That means there is nothing too deep for God to reveal to you. No situation is too complex or intricate for the Holy Spirit to uncover. God's mysteries aren't kept secret until we reach Heaven. The Holy Spirit is revealing them now to those with ears to hear and eyes to see.

Practical Application

Pray for the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and show you what you need to know. Learn to listen to Him and follow His guidance as He gives you greater insight and revelation.

Isaiah 64:4; John 14:26
