Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. (Psalm 1:5)

Judgment is something that all of us will deal with. Judgment is a verdict–favorable or unfavorable. Sometimes the judgment comes from other people. For example, we could consider your yearly employee review a form of judgment. If you've done well, they should reward you. If not, well, you know the drill. If an officer pulls you over for speeding, you may get the judgment of a traffic fine. But sometimes, the judgment comes from Satan himself. His purpose is to come against the Word in you and ensure that it fails. His goal is to destroy your life, so nothing you put your hands to do will work. The devil’s judgments, however, are unjust, and you should never agree with them!

If we accept what the enemy says, we receive his unjust judgment, and he won’t stop there. I call this tactic of the enemy the stack attack. He doesn’t hit you only one way, but he tries to hurt you in many ways at the same time.

If he is successful, he will stay and gloat over you, reminding you he won the battle.

If he is unsuccessful, he will run away and return much later with other demons in tow.

Psalm 1:5 tells us what happens to the ungodly, who do everything contrary to the Word: “Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment.”

The word stand means the ungodly cannot perform. Those who are not in fellowship with God cannot stand in the success that God desires for them. They cannot perform when the pressure on them.

However, the righteous receive the exact opposite judgment. The righteousness- those that stand with God - are emboldened to live what they believe, and they are prosperous in all their ways.

Practical Application – Judgment isn't necessarily bad. Satan is always trying to put a negative judgment on people; never agree with him. However, for those who serve God, judgment is a blessing!
