And these signs shall follow them that believe. (Mark 16:17a)
Belief is the foundation of everything in the kingdom of God. Jesus made it clear—these signs will follow those who believe. It is not for those who doubt or rationalize away the supernatural, but rather for those who take Him at His Word. If you want to see the power of God in your life, the first question you must ask yourself is: What do I believe? Do you believe in healing? Do you believe in miracles? Do you believe in the gifts of the Spirit? If you do, they will follow you. But if you don’t, you will live in a world where they seem nonexistent—not because God’s power has diminished, but because unbelief shuts the door on the miraculous.
We see evidence of this in churches today. There are places where healing is never witnessed and where the gifts of the Spirit are absent; it is not because God has changed, but rather because the people have chosen not to believe. Faith activates the supernatural. What you hear repeatedly, you will eventually believe. That’s why it matters what kind of teaching you sit under and the atmosphere you surround yourself with. If you are in a faith-filled environment, you will begin to expect God to move. And when you expect, you position yourself to receive. God's miraculous power is not reserved for a select few—it is the inheritance of every believer.
Signs and wonders follow believers. The power of God has not diminished—the question is whether we believe in it. If we do, we will see the evidence in our lives and churches. Jesus has already given us authority in His name. Will we walk in it?
Practical Application
Be intentional about the teachings you allow yourself to hear. Just because a preacher is popular doesn't mean they align with faith teachings. Listen to teachings that build faith and immerse yourself in an atmosphere where the Word of God is active.
