Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Everyone quotes the first part of Ephesians 3:20, but they usually omit the second part that says, “according to the power.” What is that power? The Greek word is energeo - according to that energy - according to that which is active and efficient in us. So Paul said that God is able to do according to what is in us - what’s in us. So as far as you can believe, is as far that you can have. The limitation is not God. You are the limitation. We limit ourselves with our doubts and fears, or when we fail to fully trust God's power to work in us. But you can ask God to grant you more of the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, to open the eyes of your understanding to His truth and His promises.
When we truly believe and trust in God's power, we will see amazing things happen in our lives. We will see God work in ways that we never thought possible. We will see His grace and His mercy abound in our lives.
I was once greatly inspired by a 90-year-old man I met who preached the Gospel with power and energy, despite his age. This man's secret to his longevity and vitality was simple: exercise and faith. He believed in the power of God's Word, and he trusted in God's grace to work in his life.
As we continue on our Christian journey, let’s remember that the power of God works within us. Let’s ask God to strengthen us with His Holy Spirit and let us trust in His power to do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask or think. And may we be inspired by those who have gone before us in faith, and may we also be examples of Christ's love and power to anyone who is watching us!
Practical Application
God's ability to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think is not limited by our own limitations, but by our willingness to trust and obey Him. Ask Him daily, “What do you want me to see?” “What do you want me to speak” and “Who do you want me to minister to?”Follow His direction and see His power flow through your obedience.
