New, Fresh Tongues

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. (Mark 16:17)
“Shall” is the strongest assertion in the English language. Jesus was not suggesting something. He was telling you exactly what would happen. He explained that these signs would assuredly follow those who believe in His name. These signs don’t follow those who seek the signs. You follow Jesus, and the signs follow you.
The first sign He mentioned was casting out devils. It is not hoping devils will leave, but rather if consists of casting them out and making them flee in His name, with His authority, expecting them to go. Satan has nothing on the believer who understands Who sent them and what name they carry.
But then notice the second sign. They, “shall speak with new tongues.” And here is where the Greek word really makes a difference. The word translated as "new” here is not neos, which means “brand new” or “never existed before.” It is kainos, which means fresh. Fresh tongues are not for a one-time experience at the altar. Fresh tongues are for each new day.
Jesus prophesied that believers would speak with fresh tongues every day. That is a provision for the day you find yourself in. God is not sending you into a world of daily fresh evil without equally giving you a daily fresh spiritual firepower to meet it. Each fresh evil is met by fresh tongues. That is the Holy Ghost inside you praying through your mouth with precision and authority that your natural mind cannot match.
This is one of the two ways the Holy Ghost uses your mouth as a weapon. Those fresh tongues are available to every believer now. The authority over the devil is available today!
Practical Application
Today, make the connection between the fresh challenges you are facing and the fresh tongues God has given you to meet them. Before you address any specific problem, whether mentally or practically, spend time praying in the Spirit over it first. Let the Holy Ghost say what needs to be said, and then watch how differently you are equipped to handle what comes next.
