God of the Overflow

And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. (Matthew 14:20-21)

God’s plan is never just for you to be full but rather to have overflow. He doesn’t want you just to survive; He wants you to be so blessed that you influence the lives of those around you. God never deals in “barely enough” because He is the God of more than enough.

Scripture tells us that everyone at this meeting ate and was filled, but God didn’t stop there. The disciples gathered the leftovers, and there were twelve baskets full. Everyone who helped received their own supply of food. God doesn’t just restore what was lost; He increases what remains.

But notice that overflow only happened after the disciples obeyed the Words of the Lord. When they gave what they had to God and followed His instructions, the supernatural increase occurred. Overflow is never random; it responds to obedience.

Also, Jesus multiplied the fish and bread with His words of thankfulness. You have been given the same authority and power. Your words either create an atmosphere of abundance or lack, depending on whether you speak faith or fear. When we align our voice with His Words, we open the windows of Heaven to flow into our lives. Your miracles will multiply at the speed of your speech. Follow in faith, speak in faith, and act in faith, and you will see God’s power flow through your life like never before.

Practical Application

Prepare for abundance by aligning your mouth with God’s Word. Don’t say what you feel or think, but rather what God’s Word says. Determine not to let doubt and fear cross your lips.
