God Gave You Keys

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16:19)

Jesus gave you keys. But what exactly does a key do? A key provides access to something valuable, like a home, a car, or a safe. It means you have permission to enter, not just watch from a distance. Keys also let us lock things up securely, making sure that no one without access can take what we have.

You have been given the authority to bind and loose things, so stop begging God to do what He's already empowered you to do.

The terms "bind and lose" are legal language in Greek. Notice that Jesus didn’t say “whatever you hope for and cry about.” Rather He said “whatever you bind or declare is unlawful and restricted.” You need to realize the authority you have and bind fear, anxiety, addiction, and oppression when they try to appear around you. When you do this, you loosen joy, peace, healing, and clarity from Heaven’s atmosphere to manifest right where you are.

Believers need to recognize their authority to cancel the lies of the enemy when they declare God’s Word in their home, business, and relationships. Heaven is not waiting for the perfect moment; it is waiting on your declaration to release what God has already prepared.

The Church was never meant to be a helpless group of people waiting for Heaven to intervene in their situation. You are not locked out of Heaven’s system; you are called to actively participate in what the Kingdom is designed to do here on earth.

Practical Application

The next time you feel overwhelmed or held back by something, speak out loud and bind and loose. Refuse to agree with the idea of “this is just how it is.” You have authority from the royal family of Heaven to bind and loose. Use it, declare it, and expect to see the change.

Matthew 18:18; John 20:23
