Favor during Famine

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. (Deuteronomy 30:19)

We must make many choices in life that are either toward God's will, or toward our own or the world's way. Decisions we make can mean the difference between life and death, or blessing and cursing.

When people choose the world's way over God's, they leave the realm of blessing and life, and walk into curses and death. They get caught up in the world's foolishness because it is continually promoted, broadcast and flashed in front of their eyes. But the way of the world is the way of death. Being caught up in the foolishness of flesh and the folly of political concepts will cause you to focus on things other than the Word of God and His way, and anything outside of God’s way eventually leads to sorrow and death.

If you chose instead to listen to and follow God, He promises that both you and your seed will live. When you follow God, even when the world is in famine, you will have favor. Even when others around you are destroyed, you will be protected.

My blessing has nothing to do with what is going on in the world. My blessing comes on me because I have decided to follow God.

When things are happening globally and the media promotes fear, you need to look at the world from God's perspective and find out why things are happening. Then go to the Word, and the Word will tell you the truth. The truth will always set you free.

Practical Application – You should always question whatever you hear that is not from the Word of God. Determine to look at everything from God’s point of view only.
