For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:12-13)

At first glance, you might think Romans 10:12-13 addresses only racial differences. He declared that there is no distinction between the Jew and the Gentile. However, Paul's message went well beyond ethnicity. He explained that salvation was not reserved for a select few. It was not simply for the zealous Jews who ritually followed the laws of Moses. Jesus died for us all and salvation is for whosoever believes.
Interestingly, when Paul quoted from the prophet Joel in Romans 10:13, he changed the word delivered to saved. This reminds us that salvation encompasses more than just forgiveness of sins; it includes freedom from bondage, healing, restoration, and eternal life. It is a fully comprehensive deliverance that God offers to all who accept Jesus.
As believers, we have the privilege and responsibility to proclaim the good news of salvation to the world. We are called to demonstrate Heaven’s way in our everyday lives by showing the “deliverance” Jesus brought us. We should be an example of the power of salvation through everything we do.
God has called His Body to go into homes and workplaces, and break down barriers that seek to divide us. Our actions and attitudes should reflect the truth that God's grace knows no boundaries or distinctions.
Practical Application
We are called to walk in respect and love toward others showing genuine concern and care for them. Sowing honor into the lives of others, especially those who look different or come from different backgrounds than we have shows the world the power of the Gospel to bridge divides the devil tries to create.
