Your Mouth Started it. Your Mouth Continues it.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
Paul made it abundantly clear that your mouth is involved in receiving salvation. That is the foundation of everything that follows in faith. Your mouth is involved in every part of the process of spiritual growth. Paul says that if you will homologeo, which means to confess, acknowledge, and speak in agreement with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Salvation came out of your mouth in agreement with what God said.
The Greek phrase homologeo is derived from two Greek words. Homo means the same. Logeo comes from logos, meaning “the written Word.” To homologeo is to say the same thing in agreement with the Word of God.
Now look at verse 10: With the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. But notice the Greek word Paul used here for salvation. In verse 9, the word is sozo, which is the initial saving work. But in verse 10, the word changes to soteria, which represents not just initial salvation but also deliverance, provision, and safety. Paul said that type of salvation is made through the mouth as well.
The same mouth that got you saved is the same mouth that enforces your salvation every day. The same principle that worked at salvation works in every other area of your life.
The pattern is consistent from beginning to end. Your mouth is central to your faith. What you say matters because God designed it to matter from the very first word that brought you into His kingdom. Keep your mouth in line with what God says.
Practical Application
Think about the area of your life where you most need deliverance right now. Find what God says about it in the Word. Then begin to homologeo. Say the same thing God says about it not once but rather consistently, daily, as an ongoing confession.
