You are Abraham’s Seed

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:29)

Paul wrote this verse to ensure no one missed this connection. Some believers read the story of Abraham as ancient history—something remarkable that happened to one remarkable man a long time ago. But Paul shut that thinking down completely. He wrote, "If you belong to Christ, you are Abraham's seed,”—not metaphorically, not in an inspirational sense, but legally, in the eyes of God, you are an heir to the totality of the promise that God swore by Himself to bring to pass.

What does that mean practically? It means that everything God swore to Abraham applies to you. That blessing is yours, that multiplication is yours, and that authority is yours. God promised Abraham that his seed would possess the gate of his enemies. The gate of your enemy is living in a place of absolute victory over anything the enemy tries to do.

But heirs do not always walk in their inheritance. An heir who does not know what they have inherited, or who does not take the steps to receive it, can live below what legally belongs to them for their entire life. The inheritance is real, but accessing it requires you to do something. You need to hear the Word that describes what you have inherited; you need to receive it, believe it, speak it, and act as if it is so. Those five steps are the key.

You are called to be fully and completely blessed. It is not because you were exceptional, because things always went smoothly, or because you never made mistakes. But because you planted your life on the promise God made to Abraham and confirmed in Christ Jesus, and you refused to let go of it.

Practical Application

Find one area in your life where you have not been believing or confessing your inheritance as Abraham's seed. Look up what the Word promises in that area and start speaking it today. You are not begging God to do something He does not want to do. You are agreeing with an oath He already swore. Agree with it out loud.
