Whose Report?

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Isaiah 53:1-3)

Christians often look for tangible evidence, visible signs, and undeniable proofs before they fully believe what God has told them. They want to see before they believe. They will accept the reports from the news or a doctor's report over what God says. However, God is always calling us to embrace the unseen and exercise faith amid mystery.

The prophet Isaiah, under the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit asked: "Who hath believed our report?" We understand this question in a world that is anti-Christ and against the message of the Gospel. All will not receive the report of Jesus. That is because faith requires a choice. Many times, faith goes against our intellect and asks us to have a willingness to trust in the promises of God over what we feel.

Believing God’s Word goes beyond what meets the eye. Faith calls us to look beyond how things appear and recognize God’s Word being true, regardless.

As faith people, we must decide to choose to believe, even when the world around you doubts or mocks the truth of the Word.

Practical Application

When you face challenging situations, speak the truth from God’s Word aloud. You need to hear yourself saying what God says about you and your issues. When you speak His Word, you reinforce your faith and align your mind with His promises.

Romans 10:16; John 12:38
