Use the Name

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11)
Paul wrote to the church in Philippi about how the kingdom functions. Jesus humbled Himself, and because of His humility, He was raised to the highest position. God gave Him a name, not as a title but as a position of absolute authority. This authority surpasses all other authorities that have ever existed in heaven, on earth, or under the earth.
Paul explicitly instructed the church to adopt the same mindset as Jesus. In essence, you and I are called to embrace His attitude of humility, surrender, and obedience. Authority in God's kingdom always originates from humility.
Here, in verse nine, the apostle Paul wrote that God "highly exalted" Jesus. The Greek word for this is huperupsoo, which means being raised to the highest possible rank. Jesus is the authority who is "above every name." That means any title related to sickness, economic problems, fear, or even death itself must bow to the authority of the name of Jesus.
But Jesus did not keep His name just for Himself. He gave you and me the authority to use His name for His purposes. The name of Jesus is the highest authority in existence, and it has been given to you and me.
Practical Application
Stop letting the enemy try to make you believe you're weak. Stop saying you can't do things. Allow the mind of Jesus, His confidence and authority, to live in you. Think the thoughts that heaven thinks about you.
Hebrews 2:9; Psalm 91:14
