The Trinity Worked Together

In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2)

For those who believe that light sparked everything in the Universe, you are mistaken. Something had to create that light. Before there was natural light, there was God (who is true light). Before galaxies, supernovas, comets, and black holes existed, there was the divine connection of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Word tells us that all three were part of creating the world. God the Father was the architect; He designed and assembled the plan. Jesus is the giver of life and builder; as scripture says, without Him was nothing made that was made. The Holy Spirit was the engineer, moving upon the face of the waters and upon creation.

The same triune God who spoke, created, and moved is still speaking, creating, and moving. God is still transforming chaotic situations into purposeful and designed opportunities for even greater glory to show. Wherever there is chaos in your life, the Spirit still moves to transform it into something with purpose. He’s not afraid of your problems, darkness, or mess. He has a plan to change everything into His design.

You were formed by the breath of God, made in God's image, and inspired by the Spirit of God. Don’t settle for the darkness that arises; choose to speak His Word and anticipate His change. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit believe in you. In fact, they believed in you before you ever believed in them.

Practical Application

Is there an area of void in your life where you must invite the Spirit to move again? Study Genesis 1 and John 1 as God discusses how He operates. Declare God’s Word over whatever feels dark or void in your life.

Genesis 1:26, 2 Corinthians 13:14
