The Same Spirit

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:9-11)
Let that verse sit with you for a moment. The same Spirit—the exact same Spirit—that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is dwelling inside you right now. It is not a lesser version of that Spirit; it is the same Spirit. That Spirit raised a dead body. It reversed what looked like a permanent, final, and irreversible situation. The Holy Spirit took a man who had been crucified, whose body had been in a tomb for three days, and brought Him back to life with a resurrected, glorified body. That is what the Spirit inside you is capable of.
So when Paul said that the Spirit will quicken your mortal body, he meant it would make your physical body alive. He was talking about healing. He was talking about the resurrection life of God operating in your physical frame right now, in this life, not just in the age to come. The same power that defeated death itself is available to deal with whatever sickness, weakness, or infirmity is trying to operate in your body. I know it works. I’ve seen it work. I used to have a tumor on my arm, but the same Spirit cleaned my body of that attack. This is why you do not have to accept sickness as God's will. The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead does not teach through sickness. He teaches through the Word. And that same Spirit says, “I am inside you, and I am greater than whatever is on the outside.” You have resurrection power living inside you. It is time to release it and walk in it.
Practical Application
If you or someone you love is dealing with sickness, be bold, lay hands on their body, and speak to it with authority. Say: "The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is dwelling inside me, and I command this body to come into alignment with the life of God." Believe what you are saying. Release the resurrection power that is already there.
