And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. (Acts 3:20-21)
There is a time coming that the Bible refers to as the times of restitution of all things. Restitution simply means to restore something lost or stolen back to its proper order.

The books of Revelation, Daniel, and Ezekiel refer to this time as well. It’s the season when everything that has to do with our time on the earth will be wrapped up. The earth lease that mankind has will end. The book of Genesis reveals that God is the Creator and Owner of the earth, but He gave mankind dominion over the earth for a particular timespan. Think about it like you would a lease. During your leasing period, are you an owner? No. You can function in some ways as an owner; you can dwell in the residence until your lease is over. Most of the time, the owner has no right to enter into the house unless the tenant says so, but the tenant is not the owner.
Scripture tells us in Psalms that the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. So, God owns the earth. He allowed mankind to have dominion over all of it, but when man sinned, Satan took over the lease and became the god of this world. That lease comes to an end during the times of restitution. At that time, all the earth will revert back to the owner Himself.
After that, there will be 1,000 years during which God will reign over the earth, and eventually, there will be a new Heaven and a new earth. The time we live in is significant because the time of restitution is coming soon. We need to do all we can to tell others about Jesus and prepare them for eternity.
Practical Application – Who do you know that has not yet made a decision for Jesus? Take time to pray for them today and listen to the Holy Ghost. He will show you how to best minister to them and share with them the truth of the Gospel.
Genesis 1:26; 2 Corinthians 4:4
