Say It to the Mountain

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23)

Jesus did not tell His disciples to think about the mountain, hope for the mountain, or even pray quietly about it. He told them to speak to it out loud. There is a place in faith where believing must become speaking, where what has taken root in the heart moves out through the mouth and is addressed directly to the obstacle in front of you.

This is not positive thinking dressed up in spiritual language. Jesus attached specific conditions to this promise: not doubting in the heart and believing that what is said will actually come to pass. The speaking is not the whole formula by itself. It flows out of a heart that has already settled the matter through belief. But once that belief is settled, silence is no longer an option. Whosoever says and does not doubt shall have whatsoever he says.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. That is not poetic exaggeration. It is a real spiritual law built into how God designed words to function. Mountains, problems, issues, and difficult moments do not respond to what you think or feel. They respond to words of faith declared by a believer who understands their authority. Stop believing quietly and start addressing every mountain that shows up and blocks you from what you are believing for.

Practical Application

What problem are you facing today? What mountain seems to tell you that you cannot move forward in faith? Speak to your problem directly today, out loud, in faith. Do not just pray about it. Address it specifically, as Jesus instructed.
