For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. (Ephesians 2:8)

Faith releases grace. Notice Ephesians 2:8 explains that grace cannot happen if there is not faith first. Grace comes through faith.

The only reason you have faith, and you get grace, is because of the mercy of the Lord. I’ve heard people say, “I deserve better than what I have.” No. That’s not true. None of us deserves any blessing. You deserve death, you deserve hell. The Bible is clear that if we have sin in our life, the result is death and punishment.

However, because of the great mercy of our Lord, you and I have been given mercy. Mercy is compassion. God showed His mercy by sending His Son, Jesus, to die for us while we were still sinners. In His great mercy, God asked us to trust and rely on Him in faith, and that faith would give us access to the grace of God that brings salvation—deliverance, healing, provision, and protection. The Greek word for saved is sozo and means healed, preserved, made whole, made sound, and delivered.

What is happening in your life that you need sozo? A sickness? A problem? A worry that has been gnawing at you? Everything you need has been provided through Jesus!

It is not your knowledge, strength, or power that brings God’s sozo into fulfillment. It is simply His love and mercy toward us.

Practical Application

How can faith release God’s grace in your life? God wants you to walk in healing, preservation, wholeness, and deliverance. Wherever you want grace to operate, create faith statements. Speak words of faith and allow God’s grace to release in every area of your life.
