Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:18-20)

Prayer is not simply a religious ritual or a way to present our requests to God; it is a powerful connection to God Himself, connecting us to Heaven’s realm, where God moves and intervenes on our behalf. When we pray, we invite God to work in our lives and in the lives of others. God is a gentleman, and He won’t do anything without our asking and agreement.
Paul encouraged us to pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. Our prayers should use the various types of prayer including petition, intercession, thanksgiving, and worship. As we pray, we must be listening to the Holy Spirit and following His direction, so our prayers become infused with His power and effectiveness.
The Holy Spirit wants to guide us in our prayer life so we can pray according to God's will.
Paul also wrote about the importance of perseverance and watchfulness in prayer. We are called to watch and be vigilant, staying alert to the needs of others and the spiritual battles that are surrounding us. Prayer is not a once-a-week event or a once a day task but a never ending posture of seeking God's guidance, wisdom, provision, and protection.
As we engage in prayer, Paul urged us to pray for all saints. We are called to bear the burdens of others by prayer. But Paul also requested prayer for himself, that he may boldly proclaim the mystery of the gospel. Paul understood the power of prayer to open doors that man can’t open and grant him favor. He recognized that through the prayers of others, he would be empowered to speak with boldness, clarity, and conviction. Your prayers can influence and impact this ministry. How are you praying?
Practical Application
Make your prayers bold and passionate. Be fervent with your prayers. Remember that your prayers can intercede for the lost and grant favor to your leaders. Keep them lifted up and keep praying with power.
