But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. (Psalm 22:3)
Praise acknowledges God. It thanks God for what He has done in the past and for what He is doing in our lives now. But the praise referred to in Psalm 22 is the Hebrew word tehillah. That word means more than simply acknowledging God; it is about welcoming His presence. God doesn’t just hear these praises; He dwells in them. The word “inhabitest” means to dwell, sit, or be enthroned.
Tehillah is a Hebrew word describing praise the erupts naturally. You don’t have to look it up in a hymnal or find a recording online. Tehilla praises build a throne for God. When faith-filled people praise in this way, we are not just singing songs about God’s goodness. We are transforming the atmosphere so that God will choose to manifest His rule and authority. Tehillah is not about emotionalism. It’s about the government of Heaven ruling in an atmosphere. Tehillah is the sound of people who know who God is and refuse to remain silent about it.
Praise is not just something God enjoys; it is why we were created. Tehillah praise restores our identity by intentionally establishing a throne for God wherever we are. It restores our joy by magnifying God rather than the problems we face.
Practical Application
A tehillah praise is a form of praise that establishes God's throne in your situation and refuses to let the enemy's influence or the surrounding culture from taking control of your thoughts. When the atmosphere feels heavy, your tehillah praise transforms the environment by giving God the glory.
Isaiah 43:21; Habakkuk 3:3
