For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in Hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. (Acts 2:25-27)

The consequences of sin are outlined in God’s Word: death, destruction, separation, and suffering. The truth is, we are all destined for Hell because we have all sinned. There are no exceptions when it comes to humanity. Since we have all broken God’s law, a price must be paid. That’s why Jesus came, not just to show us what God is like, but also to pay the full cost we owe for our wrongdoings.

See, Jesus didn’t just go to the cross to be our sacrifice; He also went to Hell and took the keys of life and death so that you could be free forever. But He didn’t stay in Hell.

On the third day, Jesus rose and defeated death, Hell, and the grave once and for all. When He rose, those who accepted Him rose with Him.

You aren’t just forgiven; you have risen to a new level of living. You are free, empowered, and called to change the world for His glory.

Practical Application

Understanding this revelation should fill our hearts with gratitude to the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit who you can share this hope with, particularly those stuck in guilt or fear. Allow the Holy Spirit to work through your words and actions to share the hope of the Gospel.
