The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (Ephesians 1:18-19)
God doesn't just want you to have faith in the abstract, but to see what you are believing for. Everything that happens in the Kingdom of God begins with revelation knowledge or seeing how the Kingdom is operating in your spirit and your mind before you see it with your eyes. The Greek word for "enlightened" literally means to be flooded with light.
Imagine a room that was dark or dimly lit, and suddenly there is such a bright light that there aren't even shadows in the room. It's not a weak flashlight; it is an overwhelming light that changes the entire atmosphere. This is the idea Paul uses to help us understand what happens when we receive revelation knowledge. Our darkened mind suddenly has such a light in it that anything confusing now makes sense because our eyes truly see, our ears truly hear, and our hearts fully perceive what God is doing.
Paul also described the "riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints." The Holy Spirit's infilling was the down payment for the fullness of the inheritance we will receive.
Then, Paul wrote words that seem to pile on top of each other: "exceeding greatness of His power" and "according to the working of His mighty power.” The Greek word for mighty power is kratos, which means a power that conquers and prevails regardless of what opposes it. Men and women with their eyes on the Kingdom are not stumbling in the dark; we live with our eyes wide open to what is going on in the Spirit, led by His pull and His voice.
Practical Application
Don't accept the lie that you aren't smart enough or strong enough. God gave you revelation, wisdom, and insight to walk in His power and overcome anything that tries to come against you. When you feel confused or overwhelmed, pause, pray, and declare, "I have revelation knowledge."
