No Respecter of Persons

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. (Acts 10:34-35)

God is no respecter of persons. He does not play favorites. He does not give more revelation to one believer and withhold it from another based on personality, background, nationality, or any other factor people use to rank each other. What He makes available, He makes available to all. What He did for one, He will do for another.

But look at what Peter says afterward. He said that “in every nation, he that feareth Him and worketh righteousness is accepted with Him.” There is a condition attached. It is not a condition of earning God's love, but a condition of positioning. The person who reverences God and operates in righteousness is the one who is accepted, meaning received and welcomed into the place where God moves. Fear of God and a righteous walk are not just moral virtues. They are the posture that puts you in a position to receive what God is ready to give. God will do for you exactly what He has done for anyone else. The difference between that person and you right now is not God's will. It is about your positioning. They put themselves in the place where the light could come, and God, who is no respecter of persons, responded to their positioning the same way He responds to anyone who gets there.

What does that positioning look like? It involves keeping the body in line, renewing the mind, praying in the Spirit consistently, and seeking long enough to actually find. You must obey the last thing God told you before expecting the next one. These are the conditions that put you in a position for what God is already willing to give. You can have what any believer in history has walked in. The access is the same. Get in position.

Practical Application

Honestly identify what is keeping you out of position right now. Is it an area of the body that is not submitted? Do you have a pattern of thinking that has not been renewed or a command from God you have been slow to obey? Name it specifically and take one concrete step toward correcting it today.
