More Than A Conqueror. So, Say So!

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (Romans 8:37)

Paul did not say we would eventually be conquerors if things went well. He did not say we were conquerors in some areas and victims in others. He said that in tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, and the sword, we are still more than conquerors. That phrase “more than a conqueror” translates as a single Greek word, hupernikao. Huper means above and beyond. Nikao means to overcome, to win. You are not just a winner. You are in a category above winning.

Now the question is not whether that is true. God was quite clear that it is. The question is whether you are walking in it. A more-than-conqueror who talks like a victim is not walking in what Paul declared. The position is real, but it has to be activated, enforced, and maintained through your words.

How did God create everything that exists? He said, He said, and He said again. Then He made you in His image and likeness, which means you operate the same way. You say. You believe what you say. And when what you believe and what you say line up, you have it in the spirit before it ever shows up in the natural.

Mark 11:23 explains how faith works: “Whosoever shall say to this mountain be removed and cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that the things which he says shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he says.” Doubt is what breaks it, not the mountain, or the problem, or the enemy.

When your mouth says one thing and your heart says another, nothing moves. This is why the shield of faith matters so much. The fiery darts the enemy fires are not usually physical attacks. Most of them are doubtful thoughts, suggestions that you are losing, that God is not listening, or that the situation is bigger than the Word.

Practical Application

Our faith shield is made of what we believe and say about what God said. You are more than a conqueror. Say so. Say it in your prayer. Say it over your situation. Say it when the fiery dart comes. Because what you say is what you will have.
