In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
Before there was time, light, space, or anything you could touch or measure, there was God. This verse at the beginning of the Bible is so essential to our understanding of theology and identity.
The very first verse of the entire Bible states that “In the beginning God created…”.
God is not a bystander watching things unfold; He is a personal, creative, originator. He was not reacting to the chaos of nothingness; He was commanding the cosmos to align with His Word. He doesn’t wait for circumstances to change; He creates those circumstances by speaking them into existence. God is not just your resource; He is the original source of those resources in the first place.
Because He is the grand designer, He also knows the blueprint of how His creation functions. When Jesus told us about the parable of the sower and explained that we would understand every parable if we grasped that one, He was showing that God designed life to work in a certain way. When we align with God's plan, it will go well for us.
Thank God He didn’t just create this world and leave us in the dark. He’s not only the Creator but He also provided us with the manual—that’s the Bible It is God’s very Word, which reveals everything we need to know about life and godliness.
Everything starts with God, and everything is held together by God. You don’t need to understand every detail of why problems happen in life when you know and trust the Designer. He created the world and you with purpose, precision, and beauty. And this mess hasn’t caught Him off guard.
Practical Application
When you're confused or overwhelmed in life, start by going back to the beginning. Ask yourself, “What did God say?” “What did God design?” and “What does the Manufacturer’s manual say?” Understanding what His Word says can change your perspective.
