God is Waiting on Your Faith

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13)

Here is one of the most important shifts a believer can make in their thinking: stop waiting on God to move, and realize that God is waiting on you.

Paul wrote in his letter to the church in Philippi that God is working in you. The word working there is energeo in the Greek, which means actively and effectively working. What is He actively working toward? To will and to do His good pleasure. The word will is thelo in Greek, meaning to determine, choose, prefer, or delight in. God's will for you is already established inside you. His desire for your healing, provision, safety, and deliverance is already at work within you. It’s not something you have to persuade Him to want; He already desires it. He is already working toward it inside you.

But whether it manifests outwardly depends on whether you cooperate with what’s inside. God will not force His will on you. He works with your faith, your words, and your corresponding actions. The spark that releases what’s inside to happen outside is your faith expressed through your mouth.

The money you need to pay your bill is already inside. Exercise your faith by speaking and agreeing with the Word. Your healing is inside. You need to declare over your body what God has already said. Your miracle is inside. Your victory is inside. God has placed it all there. Now He’s waiting for you to work it out.

You are not waiting on God; God is waiting on you. Once you fully grasp this, everything in your life changes.

Practical Application

Whatever you have been waiting for God to do, ask yourself today if God has already placed the answer inside you and is waiting for your faith to release it. Then act accordingly. Speak it. Move toward it. Work out what God has already worked in.

2 Peter 1:3; Romans 10:8
