God Has Not Forgotten

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. (Hebrews 6:10)

There are seasons in the life of a believer when it can feel like everything you have poured into what God has called you to goes unnoticed. You have been faithful. You have shown up. You have given your time, your resources, and your energy. Maybe the results are not yet what you hoped they would be. In those moments, this verse is one you need to hold onto and refuse to let go of.

The writer of Hebrews was speaking to a church that had been doing the work of faith long enough to grow weary. They had served and done all the work needed to get things done, and the writer of Hebrews reminded them that God is not unrighteous. He is just and fair, and it is contrary to His nature to forget what you have done in His name. He will not overlook it. He sees every act of faithful service, every sacrifice made in love, and every time you showed up when it cost you something to do so. He sees it all, and He counts every bit of it.

Verse 10 specifically mentions “ministering to the saints.” That includes how you support the work of the gospel through your giving. When you give your tithes and offerings to the house of God or sow into missions, you are making it possible for the Word to reach people who need it. You are participating in what God is doing in other lives. That is a real and active form of ministry. It may not come with public recognition, but God sees it, and He counts it as a labor of love shown toward His name.

God is keeping track to make sure nothing that belongs to you gets missed. Every act of faithfulness has a return. God is righteous, which means His accounting is perfect. What you have sown in time, resources, service, and sacrifice, is not gone or lost. It is on its way back to you, in God's timing, in God's way, with interest. Hold on. Keep being faithful. He has not forgotten a single thing.

Practical Application

If you have been faithful in your service to God and to others and you are in a season of waiting, let this verse be your anchor today. Say it out loud: “God is not unrighteous. He has not forgotten my work and labor of love.” The return is coming.
