But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
Â
Fruit reveals the type of tree you're examining. If you're unsure whether it's an apple or apricot tree, simply wait for the fruit to appear, and the evidence will become clear.
The evidence that you are being led by the Holy Spirit will be evident if you lead others with gentleness, meekness, and love. When a leader is instead boastful, proud, arrogant, and demands their way or the highway, it shows that this person is not being led by the Spirit of God, but by their own flesh.
The fruit of the Spirit begins with love. Love isn't optional; it’s the foundation from which joy, peace, and all other fruit grow.
Paul taught in these verses that against these things "there is no law." That means no curse, bondage, or demonic scheme can overtake you and defeat you when you choose to operate and grow the fruit of the Spirit in your life.
Fruit demonstrates that the Holy Spirit is living within you. Faith in the name of Jesus confirms your delegated authority in this world. Together, they release a life that cannot be overcome by sin, death, or anything the devil attempts.
Practical Application
Remind yourself throughout the day that the fruit of the Spirit will be evident in you. Say, "I have love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance operating today on a level the world is unfamiliar with." Be the evidence of a life led by the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:9; Colossians 3:14
