From Curse to Blessing

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. (Genesis 3:17)
God spoke to Adam and clearly made it known that although the woman ate first, the sin was passed to the man. Why? Because he saw everything happen and did nothing. He was passive and silent. Now, he wasn’t meant to attack her, but the man is called to use his voice and authority to guide the woman in the right direction. A true man of God is willing to lovingly tell his wife when he sees problems and pitfalls ahead.
Because Adam was passive and then followed her into her sin, a curse was placed upon all his work. Now, work would be difficult, stressful, and painful. That is the cursed system functioning in the world today. This explains why so many people are exhausted, not just physically but also spiritually, from their work.Â
That was what mankind was doomed to walk in before Jesus came. But when Jesus died, what was placed upon His head? A crown of thorns. That wasn’t random; it was prophetic. Jesus took the curse upon His own head so that you could be redeemed from fruitless work.
Yes, we may face resistance in this world, but you are not powerless! The Holy Spirit can guide you to improve systems, you can work wisely rather than just hard, and you can prosper in your efforts. Adam went into the curse because he disobeyed God’s guidance. You can walk in the blessing when you obey God immediately.
Practical Application
If you feel resistance in your business or job, don’t just quit. Pray. Ask God for wisdom and direction on how He wants to use you at your job or in your business to break any curses trying to affect you. You are redeemed. Bring forth that redemption.
