Faith Works By Love

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (Galatians 5:6)
Â
Paul's entire letter to the Galatians centers on one key point: you are not justified by works of the law—not circumcision, rituals or religious acts. What truly matters now in Christ Jesus is faith. The Greek word for faith is pistis, which means trust, confidence, and belief.
But then he added something many people skip right over. Faith “which worketh by love." Two things are needed for the power within you to be fully activated and released: faith and love. You can't have one without the other and expect God's full power to flow through your life.
Faith without love is like an engine without fuel—it may have all the right parts, but it won't run.
This means you can't walk in unforgiveness, bitterness, or hatred toward others and then expect miracles from God. You can't refuse to forgive someone and then lay hands on the sick, expecting dunamis to flow. Love isn't optional in the Kingdom. It’s the switch that keeps the power circuit open. That's why you can never hear enough teaching on God's love—not because love is a soft, feel-good topic, but because love is the operational requirement for faith to work at its full capacity. God is love. His nature is love. When you walk in His nature, His power flows freely. When you shut love off, you block the flow.
Let love govern you—not because it’s always easy, but because your faith depends on it.
Practical Application
Do a quick inventory. Is there anyone you haven't fully forgiven? Any bitterness you're holding onto? Deal with it today—not for their sake, but for yours. You need your faith working. And your faith works by love.
