Faith Makes Us Children

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. (John 1:12)
Receiving Jesus does more than just give you a ticket to Heaven. You have been adopted into God's royal family. You are sons and daughters of God with the authority of His name. He has given you the power, right, and privilege to use His authority.
With sonship, you gain access to everything the Father possesses. Angels are assigned to minister to you, Kingdom treasuries are available for Kingdom operations, and you have the duty to declare what the King has decreed and expect it to come to pass.
As a child of God, you have been given the right to use the Name of Jesus. The word "name" in Greek is not just a label to identify someone; it's the word onoma, which means character and authority.
When you speak "in the name of Jesus," you are acting with His authority as if Jesus Himself were speaking. Heaven recognizes it, hell trembles at it, and the earth responds to it. The question isn't whether His name works; it's whether you will believe enough to use it.
Practical Application
Call on the name of Jesus daily. Fight against the enemy, and pray for your family and finances. Don't let yourself argue with depression, oppression, or fear. Tell it to leave in the name of Jesus.
1 John 3:23; John 3:18
