And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. (Acts 3:16)
Religion creates "sacred cows" of tradition and phrases that may sound deeply spiritual, but beneath it all are human efforts, ideas, and strategies. Over time, Christians made these concepts seem spiritual enough and loosely connected to morality so that the public believes the sacred cow reflects how God thinks. However, what we do must be grounded in is the Word of God.
Peter was clear when he said that faith in the name of Jesus is what made the man whole. It was not a ceremony, not following a five-step lameness recovery program, or not "knowing the name of the demon of lameness." Those religious ideas have nothing to do with what the Word says. Faith in the name of Jesus doesn't waver based on how you feel or what the situation looks like; it relies on who Jesus is.
Mountains move, demons flee, and bodies are healed when the name of Jesus is spoken in faith.
Practical Application
Stop relying on the traditions you grew up with. Test what you've believed, heard, or seen against the Word. If it's not in Scripture, it's not for you. Also, don't settle for partial healing, small freedoms, or a bit of provision. Believe for perfect wholeness in His name.
Matthew 17:20; John 14:12
