Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. (Romans 11:20-21)

Paul penned Romans 11:20-21 to remind us of the significance of faith, humility, and reverence in our relationship with God.
Faith is the foundation of our walk with God. It is by faith that we receive salvation, and it is through faith that we continue to live before Him in righteousness. Hebrews 11:6 teaches us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Because of this, nurturing and growing our faith should be a constant pursuit of Christians. When we study God's Word, meditate on His promises, and strengthen our belief in His power and goodness, we are operating by faith in our lives.
However, even though faith is crucial, humility must accompany it. Paul warned against being highminded, reminding us that our position is not because of our own ability or wisdom, but solely because of God's mercy. We must resist the temptation to exalt ourselves above others, thinking that we have somehow earned God's favor. Instead, we should approach God with a humble heart, acknowledging our complete dependence on Him and recognizing His sovereignty in our lives. Paul instead told us to fear God. Fear in this passage is not about being afraid of God's punishment but having a reverential awe and respect for Him. It is an acknowledgment of His holiness, power, and authority. Reverence reminds us we serve a God who is mighty and worthy of our utmost honor and adoration. It keeps us mindful of our need to align our lives with His will and live in accordance with His Word.
Practical Application
