Don’t be Afraid of Snakes

And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the Lord had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. (Exodus 7:8-12)
God can do so much with so little! He doesn’t need a big show or famous people to accomplish His will; all He needs is a person of faith who will trust and obey Him. That’s what He found on the backside of the desert in Moses. Moses asked to bring Aaron with him to speak to the Pharaoh, and God approved. So the brothers approached one of the most powerful men in the world with only God’s Word and a staff. God’s power turned that rod into a serpent, but note what happened next. Pharaoh’s magicians threw down their staffs, and they too became serpents. Satan is always trying to counterfeit the things of God, but when you take authority over such actions in the name of Jesus, they must stop!
Aaron didn’t run in fear at this satanic display! He stood still and saw his serpent swallow up the ones conjured through magic. The power of God is always greater than the enemy!
Pharaoh wanted to intimidate Moses, but it didn’t work because Moses had an encounter with the living God who is, was, and is to come! Throughout the exile from Egypt, God demonstrated His faithfulness in power to His people. First, He protected them from the plagues, then He split the sea so they could cross on dry ground. He led them and fed them miraculously. God still works miraculously today, but instead of Moses and Aaron, He wants to use you!
Practical Application
God has granted you power over every work of the enemy. When you speak God’s Word and act in faith, miracles will occur. Don’t be afraid of any snakes!
