Divine Recalibration

Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? (Job 38:3-8)
I hear Christians blaming God for all kinds of things. I’m sure you’ve heard (or even said), “Why did God let this happen?” However, this passage from the Book of Job offers a sobering reminder that when God finally speaks, He doesn’t give explanations. Instead, He recalibrates our lives, the way He designed it.
Job was feeling depressed due to the circumstances in his life, and he started to complain to God. Eventually, God grew tired of Job’s complaints and explained that He is the Creator. He laid the foundations of the universe, measured and stretched the cosmos with His own hand, commanded the oceans to pause, and choreographed the dance of the stars in the Heavens. We should remember that God is not just someone who fixes problems; He is the Founder of Reality. We don’t just need Him to “fix things;” we need to understand how His world works and follow the instruction manual.
Many people abandon God when things go wrong, but the real question is whether we are operating within His system in His way. Or are we trying to manipulate things to get what we want? The good news is that God didn’t just create the world because He was bored. God placed man as the focal point of His creation, not just to be a spectator, but as a steward of His system.
Practical Application
When chaos strikes, don’t let your first words be accusations. Instead, choose surrender and faith. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to the Word for understanding what to do in a chaotic moment. You can't blame the system if you never opened the manual.
