Death Passed Through Everything

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. (Romans 5:12)
Let me tell you something about the fall that most people miss. When Adam sinned, death did not just touch him and Eve. It went everywhere. The Greek word passed here is dierchomai. It means death went abroad. It went over. It went through. It pierced through everything.
Before Genesis 3, lions laid down with lambs. Nothing on earth ate meat; everything consumed greenery. You do not see permission to eat meat until after the flood with Noah. That was not the original design. But when Adam sided with Satan's word instead of God's Word, death contaminated the entire planet. Every animal's nature changed. Romans 8Â tells us that the whole creation is groaning, waiting for the revelation of the sons of God.
The planet is dying, but it's not just about global warming. I remember in the 70s when they told us we had only 10 years before the Earth would be ice-covered. That never happened. Later, they said it was about global warming and gave us 12 years. That deadline also passed. The real issue isn't carbon monoxide; it's spiritual. The Earth is aging because sin introduced death into the system.
Jesus said there would be more earthquakes, floods, and natural disasters as the end approaches. Why? She is getting old. Just as an 88-year-old body needs help, the planet needs Holy Ghost intervention. I was preaching for Jesse recently and told him I was fighting getting older. He said, "You are going to lose. Father time has never lost a case."
Now, that doesn't mean you have to die early or become disabled with sickness. But your body is decaying. The Bible confirms this. You can slow it down by doing what God says. Stay out of stress, strife, and fear. Do the right thing. Obey the Word. Then you live longer and healthier. Death came through one man and spread everywhere. But life came through one Man too. His name is Jesus. And if you are in Him, you have access to resurrection life right now.
Practical Application
Take care of your body by obeying what God says about stress, fear, and strife. Slow the decay. And give God thanks daily.
