Christ in You

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27)

Paul called this a mystery. It is not because it is confusing, but because it was hidden for ages and generations and has now been revealed. And what is the mystery? Christ in you. That word Christ is Christos in the Greek. It refers to the Anointed One and His anointing.

The anointing is a person: the Holy Ghost. Paul said that this anointing is inside you, not just on you temporarily for a moment of ministry. It’s not something that visits you occasionally when the worship feels good and you sense it. It’s in you. The Greek word is 'en,' which means rooted, grounded, deeply attached.

When the Jews heard Paul preaching that Gentiles could be saved and that the mystery of Christ in you was available to people outside of Israel, they wanted to kill him. This truth was that revolutionary. It still is. Because if the average believer fully understood that dunamis - that miracle-working power - is living inside them right now, the church would look completely different. Hospitals would empty. Families would be restored. The enemy would have nowhere to stand.

The miracle is inside you. It is not on its way or in someone else's ministry across town. It is inside you.

Practical Application

Say this out loud right now and mean it: "Christ is in me. The Anointed One and His anointing live inside me. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world." Now live the rest of your day from that reality.

Acts 2:4; 1 Timothy 1:1
