Believe and Receive

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:23-24)

Believe and receive. These two words are the key to unlocking the abundant life God has planned for you! In Mark 11:23-24, Jesus told His disciples that if they believed without doubt and spoke to a mountain, it would be removed. It’s a fact, not a possibility. Now, the mountain in these verses refers to more than a physical mountain. It could be any obstacle or challenge that you face.

God has made available all manifestations of His ability to us. So, if we do not see the power of God working in our lives, the problem is not God. The issue must be us! We must believe and receive. We must know who we are in Christ, that we have been declared righteous and holy. We have to know the price that has been paid for us, and what we have. We must know that when we come up against a situation, it does not have a right to exist. It has no right against us.

Many people want to blame God when things do not go their way. But God will let happen to us whatever we allow to happen. He has done all the things necessary for us to win in every instance and issue, but we have to do our part. We must receive the gift of righteousness and be bold individuals. There are no wimps in the kingdom of God.

If we can receive an abundance of grace and an abundance of right standing with God, we can rule and reign in this life. We can be in control. Most Christians are not in control of their lives. They are not in control of their finances, their health, or their relationships. But we can be as we submit to God. We can be in control as God’s stewards with the gift of righteousness and the grace of God.

Practical Application

Make it a habit to speak the Word over yourself every day. As you speak the Word, let go of doubt and fear and believe that God's promises are true for you. This daily practice will help you align your heart and mind with God's truth and overcome any obstacles that come your way.

Luke 9:1; 1 Corinthians 15:57
