Your Miracle is Marinating
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:11-12)
Faith needs patience to fulfill its purpose.
That means there will be a waiting period. In the same way that there is the time between sowing seed and harvest, there is a season that requires patience while your faith works behind the scenes.
Abraham is a wonderful story of patience in the promises of God. Scripture tells us that he had already believed God, and God counted it to him for righteousness. That meant that Abraham's faith was already wholly connected to what God was doing. However, God's promise didn't happen immediately. There was a season of patience that was required for God's plan to become fully matured.
Hebrews 6:12 tells us that the promises of God are only inherited by faith through patience.
We are a microwave generation that wants things to happen quickly and on our schedule. The problem is a microwave meal takes out some of the nutrients and good stuff from what you heated. You don't want a microwave miracle. The best meals are ones that cook for a long time, marinating in preparation.
When you are tempted to worry about how long it is taking for what you are believing for to happen, remind yourself that your miracle is marinating. God plans on it happening. Don't give up; your faith needs your patience to fulfill God's plan.
Practical Application – When you are tempted to doubt or worry, remind yourself, "My miracle is marinating."
