You Have the Mind of Christ
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5)
The word mind comes from the Greek phrase noús. It means the mind, the reason, or the intellect. Greek scholars used the phrase to talk about the capacity of each person to reason and reflect about situations and circumstances. Paul wrote to the church in Philippi that they had the capacity and ability to think about situations, not the way a natural man does, but the way Jesus does.
You can think the way Jesus thinks. Your thinking is anointed. You are in control of your mind. You can allow it to think based on your flesh and your feelings, or you can choose to have a mind that thinks the way Jesus thinks.
When people say, “I just can’t help thinking about this,” they’re wrong. If you are saved and have the Holy Spirit living inside of you, you can control your mind. You can manage your thoughts and bring them into subjection with what Jesus said and how Jesus operates.
How does Jesus think?
He only says and does what the Father says.
He speaks the Word over every situation.
He doesn’t allow fear to come out of His mouth.
You can think like Jesus. Tell your mind what to think and don’t allow yourself to be impressed by the enemy.
Practical Application – When you are tempted to think negatively, tell your mind, “I will only think the way Jesus thinks. Mind, you get in line with the Word!”
2 Corinthians 10:5; 1 Corinthians 2:16
