Speak Only Faith
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18)
Jesus often gave one simple two-word instruction to His followers during His ministry on earth: “Fear not!”
People who refuse to fear see the evidence of faith in their lives. When Jairus’ daughter died, Jesus told him, “Fear not.” When the disciples were in a storm, and Jesus came walking on water, He said, “Fear not.”
How do we keep fear out of our minds and our lives? Some people will say “Just have more faith," but faith needs to be activated by love.
When the enemy attacks you, he will do so with facts. If he attacks your body with sickness, the doctors will tell you facts about what is going to happen. They will describe how bad the situation might be. If you allow it, that wrong thinking will cause you to have wrong believing, wrong speaking, and then wrong actions will bring forth wrong results.
You can choose to allow fear to enter into your heart and accept the facts, or instead, you can speak the truth in love. The truth is God’s Word. The truth is: “By His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). By speaking God’s Word and meditating on His love for you, you will cast fear out of your heart. Satan can’t do anything to you if you don’t accept fear, just like God can’t do anything for if you don’t agree in faith.
When an emergency happens in your life, the first thing you need to do is decide not to allow fearful words to come out of your mouth or stay in your mind or heart. Refuse to be afraid.
Practical Application – Develop a confession using the Word of God that you can speak when fear tries to enter into your mind. Don’t allow fearful words to come out of your mouth; only speak faith.
