Seed, Time and Harvest
Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. (Philippians 4:15)
Paul started many churches during his missionary journeys. He said that no church communicated, or fellowshipped, with him about giving and receiving except this one church. Think for a moment of how many churches Paul began from the ground up. Of these churches, the only one who understood the blessing connected to sowing seed was this church in Macedonia.
Many read this passage and only see the part that is talking about giving into Paul’s ministry. They miss the fact that he says, giving and receiving.
Every seed that you sow into the Kingdom will come back to you multiplied. God plans on giving you a return on your investment, and Kingdom ROI is better than anything the world can ever promise you.
However, just like any form of planting or investment, there is a season of waiting. You need to give the seed time to germinate and grow to get the multiplication that God promises.
Give into the ministries that have blessed you and be quick to sow your seed. During the waiting period, don't dig up what you have planted. What I mean by that is don't count the seed as dead because you don’t see any growth yet and don’t speak doubt over the return. Celebrate and thank God for the return that He has planned for you. When the time comes for the fulfillment of that seed sown, make sure that you testify or tell others about God's goodness.
A seed will meet any need. Don’t give up sowing; you will reap a great harvest in return.
Practical Application – Is there any church or ministry that has blessed and helped you? Sow into them. Obey God and take a step of faith, expecting a return on your investment.
