Operate As God Operates
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. (Romans 4:17-20)
We were created in the image and likeness of God and have been given the same authority as Jesus. Understanding this, we should operate the same way God does.
In fact, you and I are the only beings in the universe that can operate the same way God does. Think about that! When God speaks a thing, it is required to come to pass. How did God create the earth, the planets, the universe, the sun, moon, stars, oceans, rivers, and every living thing on this planet? He spoke them into existence. The first chapter of Genesis says repeatedly, God said, and it was.
Romans 4:17-20 tells us that Abraham operated in faith the same way God does - by speaking. He also gave glory to God for the manifestation before it came to pass. We should also declare things that are not yet as though they already are. God didn’t wait to see if what He said came to pass. He spoke and then said, “It’s done because I said it.” God gave you that same authority. Guard your mouth! If you aren’t careful, you can point your most powerful weapon against yourself and destroy your life.
Practical Application – Take account of your words this week. How many times do you say something that doesn’t agree with God’s Word? Decide to speak only what is in agreement with God’s Word.
