Land Your Plane Safely
And the Lord said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die. (Judges 6:23)
Fear is one of the most dangerous parasites you can allow in your life. When you allow fear to stay in your mind and heart, you will eventually panic. When you panic, your heart pounds, your hands sweat, your chest hurts, and your body wants to dictate your actions fully.
When I was taking flying lessons, my instructor took me up about 3500 feet in the air, turned the engines off, and told me to get it started again. Well, immediately, the plane went into a flat spin. The G forces were pushing against my body, and the plane was going to crash if I didn’t do something.
You know the first thing my instructor taught me to do? He taught me to keep my mind right and not to panic. When you resist panic, you can remember how you were trained and what you should do. The main thing my flight instructor taught me was to keep calm and cool and do what I was trained to do.
If you have children, one of the most important lessons you can teach is how to handle an emergency. First, take a breath and remain calm. Second, remember what you were taught. Third, go to the Word and see what it says. Fourth, speak the Word out of your mouth. The fifth and final thing, praise the Lord that what He said is so.
If you speak fear, you sign for the package that Satan wants to give you. You need to decide, “I’m not taking what you’re giving. I’m going to speak the Word only!”
Practical Application – When you experience the physical feeling of fear and panic, let it be an alarm clock for you to speak the Word only. When fear tries to tell you what to feel, declare what God said.
